I am so excited to unveil my newest children’s book “In This Family” with illustrations by @meenalpatelstudio 🌈 As my husband and I have navigated raising our biracial bachas for the last 9+ years (how are they so grown??) I have constantly looked for books that celebrate the multi-racial multi-religious multi-cultural identities we experience. I found so many wonderful books, like “I Love Saturdays y Domingos”, but thought there was an opportunity to share the particular traditions of our family.
About the Illustrator
Meenal Patel is an artist, illustrator, designer, and children’s book author whose work celebrates the moments that connect us, the journey to self-acceptance, and the strength of community. She is the author and illustrator of Priya Dreams of Marigolds and Masala, which received the South Asia Book Award. When she’s not creating books, Meenal loves painting with her nieces, baking birthday cakes, and hiking the forests of Minnesota with her husband and sweet dog. She never says no to ice cream.
